With the Verpakkingsregister Sierteelt (VRS), we facilitate the digital exchange of sustainability data regarding used packaging materials in the ornamental horticulture sector. The Verpakkingsregister Sierteelt helps increase transparency in the supply chain. Using the packaging register, a grower can include additional information about the packaging used with an order, which can then be used by you as the buyer in the customs declaration or packaging tax declaration.

Why a packaging register?
The Verpakkingsregister Sierteelt aims to provide transparency regarding the packaging and materials used, thereby promoting sustainability in the sector. Through Floriday, we can share information more efficiently and effectively throughout the supply chain and make this visible. The grower can include packaging information from the supplier with the order. As a buyer, you can use this data for declarations.
How does the packaging register work?
The packaging register is not managed by Floriday, but by Floricode. Packaging suppliers populate Floricode's packaging register with the packaging they supply (or can supply). Subsequently, this data is imported into Floriday, allowing growers to link these packages to the articles.
How can I ensure I receive packaging information?
First of all, the packaging supplier must make their information available in the Packaging Register. Only then can a grower link the packaging information to their products. If a grower cannot find a packaging supplier or specific packaging in the VRS system, they must contact the packaging supplier. They can indicate whether they have already fully populated the Packaging Register at Floricode.
Confidential packaging
For certain types of packaging, it is important that the data is treated confidentially (for example, customer-specific packaging). Work is currently underway on a method to register these confidential packages as well and make them available to specific users. Such packages will also be made available in the future.
